"It's hard to even know where to begin about the book "Flowers For Peggy". To some, they would claim it is a love story...and it is. But it is also more than that. In fact, it is more like an intimate glimpse into the lives of this couple.
Franklin begins at the beginning. How he met her, how their lives developed over the years. He talks about the decisions they made...and the paths their lives took because of these decisions.
It is an incredible journey that should have had a 'fairy-tale ending'....but it didn't. Because in 1990, in the midst of such happiness,'something' begins to go wrong.
Flowers For Peggy is a tribute yes....but woven throughout these pages is a love so strong...not even a disease like Alzheimer's can defeat it. And it is full of inspiration...devotion...and helpful hints that caregivers can use.
This is one book that reachs out to the hearts of all caregivers. I fell in love with Peggy and now feel like I have lost a friend. And Franklin, well, let's just say he does much to help the caregiver span the 'uncertainty' we all have at times. You see, he teachs us, that faith and love, can move mountains....

As for the video...again, it is absolutely wonderful! Done in cooperation with Dr. Mike Kinney and several others, the first part of this video is a real lesson in Alzheimer's. Dr. Kinney discusses symptoms, (including some of the treatable dementias), risk factors, stages, support groups and what a caregiver should do.
The second half, deals on a more personal level. There are photographs, snipets of Peggy and an interview Franklin did with a television station. This is one video I think every caregiver should have...unless of course, you already KNOW what the prodromal stage is.... (grin)
Okay, now I KNOW you are all waiting to find out the cost. But I am not going to tell you. You see, this is a non-commerical site so nothing is "sold" in here. I will however, say they are both VERY INEXPENSIVE and I highly recommend them.
So how do you get them? EASY! Just click on Dr. Cassels e-mail button below and I know he'll be happy to tell you about how to purchase one or both of them.
